The Republican National Committee is releasing a new web ad today that contrasts Vice President Joe Biden's declaration last year that "the United States and Russia no longer have good reason not to trust one another" with news that Russia is arming Bashar al-Assad as he beats back protesters in Syria.
The spot is clearly a follow-up to Biden's weekend assignment (on talk shows) of playing down President Obama's assurances to his Russian counterpart that he'd have "more flexibility" after his reelection. Obama's comments were overheard by the press inadvertently on a hot mic.
The ad ends by asking this question: "Obama-Biden & Russia: Do you share their trust?" It is being called, "Misplaced Trust."
