Vice President Joe Biden is at least part of the reason President Barack Obama came out in favor of same sex marriage yesterday, the president admitted in the interview on the issue with ABC's Robin Roberts:
Roberts asked whether Biden "jumped the gun" by coming out in favor of same sex marriage last weekend.
"I had already made a decision that we were going probably take this position before the election and before the convention," Obama responded. "He probably got out a little bit over his skis, but out of generosity of spirit."
Roberts asked, "So you're not upset with anyone?"
"Would I have preferred to have done this in my own way in my own terms without I think there being a a lot of notice to everybody, sure," Obama said. "But all's well that ends well."
