A surrogate for President Obama's reelection campaign sheepishly admitted on CBS's Face the Nation that "We've had better weeks."
The response came after a declarative statement made by host Bob Schieffer. "This was not a good week, though, for the president," Schieffer said.
The surrogate, Maryland governor Martin O'Malley, a Democrat and the head of the Democratic Governors Association replied, "We've had better weeks. And they'll be good weeks and bad weeks."
The bad week Schieffer was referring to ended Friday with the president saying at a White House press conference that "the private sector is doing fine," and with the announcement on Friday afternoon that the Justice Department would be investigating high-level national security leaks coming from the Obama administration.
