From the Hill:
The Federal Reserve on Wednesday released an edition of its so-called "beige book," that said the 2010 healthcare law is being cited as a reason for layoffs and a slowdown in hiring.
The story, written by Pete Kasperowicz, goes on to note that there are so many questions, in the minds of potential employers, that they are seeking help from consultants and compliance specialists who understand the mysteries of Obamacare and can, therefore, help them cope.
... the Atlanta district noted that healthcare regulations are so burdensome there is a shortage of compliance specialists. "Atlanta noted a lack of compliance specialists due to heavier regulations in the healthcare industry," [the report] said.
Obamacare baffles even its ardent supporters as was the case with Donna Brazile who famously tweeted her confusion a week or so ago.
The bill is awesomely complex and the claims made for it by its authors and supporters are impossibly optimistic many of whom may not really expect it to perform as sold. They see it, rather, as a staging area along the way to the final objective, which is single payer health care. The payer, of course, being the government. At some point, the difficulties of understanding and implementing Obamacare will result in a general throwing up of hands in surrender to the inevitable. And we will have single payer – awful but understandable.
