ABC News points to a new Mitt Romney ad that focuses on former Mexican president Vicente Fox's praise for Texas's policy of providing in-state tuition to the children of illegal immigrants who attend state universities and colleges.
The ad, which aired for the first time on Hannity, shows Fox saying, "I want to publicly recognize Governor Perry and the state of Texas by having taken that step forward when you decided to give access to Mexican migrants to universities in Texas." Watch the ad and the spin from the Perry and Romney camps afterwards below:
Perry spokesman Ray Sullivan told Sean Hannity that the "whole context" of the ad is "fundamentally wrong" and that it comes "awful close to crossing the line." As governor, Sullivan says, Perry has done more to secure the border with Mexico than anyone else.
