Three U.S. senators blasted Susan Rice after meeting with her on Capitol Hill. The meeting centered around the Benghazi terrorist attack--and Rice's public statements following the attack.
After the meeting, Senator John McCain said, accoding to the Washington Free Beacon, "We are significantly troubled by many of the answers that we got and some that we didn’t get."
“I’m more troubled today, knowing–having met with the acting director of the CIA and Ambassador Rice,” said New Hampshire Republican senator Kelly Ayotte. “Because it’s certainly clear from the beginning that we knew that those with ties to al Qaeda were involved in the attack on the embassy. ... Clearly the impression that was given–the information given to the American people was wrong. ... In fact, Ambassador Rice said today absolutely it was wrong."
South Carolina Republican senator Lindsey Graham added, "I’m more convinced than ever that it was bad, it was unjustified, to give the scenario presented by Ambassador Rice and President Obama three weeks before an election."
