President Obama hits the road, again, today. He is, as Jim Kuhnhenn of the AP reports:
… embarking on a two-stop day trip to highlight technological developments and to raise money for the Democratic Party
Events on the campaign that never ends will include:
* a gala lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee.
* super PAC fundraiser ... for the Senate Majority PAC, a Democratic group that takes unlimited donations. Obama's appearance will cap what has been a gradual acceptance of the big-money groups he once decried.
* a fundraising dinner at the home of the Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
The president needs the money, it seems, in order to draw “attention to his economic policies.”
If those would be the policies that resulted in a severe economic contraction in the last quarter, then maybe he doesn’t need the money. Most people – with the possible exception of the people invited to Ms. Wintour’s soiree – noticed
