The people who run the VA are doing great work and they know this because they have been telling themselves so:
Every one of the almost 500 senior executives at the Veterans Affairs Department has been “outstanding,” “exceeds fully successful,” or “fully successful” since fiscal 2010, said Gina Farrisee, assistant secretary for human resources and administration, on Friday before a hearing of the House Veterans Affairs Committee.
Comforting to know. And one suspects that the performance of “senior executives” at the IRS has been similarly exemplary. And at the EPA. HUD. HHS. And on and on, through the entire alphabet and all the corridors of Washington where excellence on the job is just barely satisfactory. And everyone gets a bonus.
