The city’s tabloids pump out streams of headlines punning on his name while late-night comics have made him a national punch line.
With Churchillian fortitude, Mr. Weiner:
... has embraced the media maelstrom in a calculated gamble that voters would respect his toughness and dedication to their issues.
By lusting so palpably for office, Mr. Weiner makes it clear that he is not qualified and, indeed, dangerous. If he were truly so civically virtuous, he would exile himself from politics forever, sparing the rest of us those wretched jokes.
