Joseph Bottum notes that Sarah Palin did not mention abortion in her speech last night, prompting Amanda Shaw to reply:
Sarah Palin didn't talk about abortion, and I don't think she needed to. . . .
When she stood up on the stage before all of America, with her pregnant daughter by her side and her Downs syndrome baby on her shoulder, she reminded us exactly where she stands on abortion.
It strikes me that this may be at least partially why so much of the left is so focused on questioning and attacking Palin's family: They take the very fact of it as a challenge to the culture of abortion.
