The most interesting moments during yesterday's presidential forum in South Carolina came when the Republican candidates grappled with a thorny question about the United States constitution and human rights. One of the questioners, Professor Robert George of Princeton, wanted to know whether the candidates would, as president, refuse to abide by the Supreme Court's rulings that have declared a constitutional right to abortion and support federal legislation to protect the right to life of unborn children.

House Passes "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act" 251 to 175 (Corrected)

The House of Representatives voted today on the "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act," which bans direct federal funding of elective abortions and federal funding of insurance policies that cover elective abortions, such as policies that will be offered by Obamacare's exchanges in a few short years. The final tally was 251 to 175. Sixteen Democrats broke from their party to vote in favor of the bill. There weren't any Republicans who voted "no."
