Photo of the Year

British photog Tim Hetherington wins the World Press Photo Award for 2007 with this:

SGE.HIA98.080208140004.photo00.quicklook.default-245x163.jpg

AFP reports:

"This image shows the exhaustion of a man -- and the exhaustion of a nation," jury chairman Gary Knight said. "We're all connected to this. It's a picture of a man at the end of a line."

Images of tired soldiers have great propaganda value--$15,000 to be precise. My choice for photo of the year here. It's from Michael Yon, and it actually captures something other than the fondest wishes of lefty photographers.
