Daily Kos Desperate to Defend Wright

It was probably inevitable that if the argument over Jeremiah Wright raged long enough, someone would bring Jesus Christ into the discussion. But if defenders of Wright (and by extension, Obama) are trying to convince moderates and/or Reagan Democrats that Wright actually sounds a lot like Jesus Christ, they picked a funny way to do it. Do you think many of those undecideds will recognize this teaching from Christ offered by the faithful at the Daily Kos?

Damn you rich! You already have your compensation.
Damn you who are well-fed! You will know hunger.
Damn you who laugh now! You will weep and grieve.
Damn you when everybody speaks well of you!

Regular churchgoers might not recognize this alternative translation of the Sermon on the Mount. It's the "Scholar's Version," by the Jesus Seminar, which translated all five Gospels (including the Gospel of Thomas), and which does not accept that Christ rose from the dead.

Theology aside, which Obama skeptics are going to be convinced by a cherry-picked translation rejected by most mainline Christians?
