Does Obama Finish Anything?

The lame excuse from Obama spokesman David Axelrod for his guy's pathetic outing at the lanes in Altoona: Obama only played seven frames--which really makes the showing no less pathetic. Still, how a man rolls may not be terribly indicative of how he would perform as a commander in chief. Quitting and making excuses when things get tough...it doesn't bode well.

Of course, Obama's not the first presidential aspirant who might have benefited from bumpers. Ari Richter takes us back in the annals of presidential bowling:

The Republican competition in 1968 between former vice president Richard Nixon and Gov. George Romney of Michigan was a mismatch from the outset. Long before they turned their attention to New Hampshire, Romney had compromised his candidacy by his inability to explain how he would deal with the war in Vietnam if elected.

The only thing that seemed to keep him afloat was his tenacity, a quality he demonstrated the first time he encountered duckpin bowling at an alley outside Manchester. Romney took out nine pins with his first two balls but could not get the 10th for the life of him.

As the television cameras whirred and the stills clicked, as reporters watched in amazement, he rolled 33 more balls until he finally nailed that final pin.

It would be nice if Obama showed a little resolve in anything but sticking by his anti-Semitic preacher.
