The Democrats always tell us that addressing our energy needs requires a long-term plan that includes some tough choices. Apparently the first such choice is outlawing OPEC:

With oil prices hitting new highs almost daily, the House was scheduled to take up legislation Monday intended to make cartels such as OPEC illegal.

The bill - known as "NOPEC" - would amend the Sherman Antitrust Act in a bid to use U.S. laws to counter cartels such as the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, better known as OPEC...

The NOPEC bill would allow the federal government to sue oil-producing foreign countries in U.S. courts for manipulating supplies and fixing prices.
