George McGovern Obama

With Hamas un-endorsing Obama after his speech yesterday at AIPAC, I can't help but wonder what his next successful "pander pivot" will be.

Perhaps his next move will be to back off from this pledge:

I will cut tens of billions of dollars in wasteful spending. I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems. I will not weaponize space. I will slow our development of future combat systems.

Abe Greenwald at Contentions reports that Obama made this statement in a youtube video that was "made last year for the pacifist organization Caucus4Priorities.org, whose mission is 'To redirect 15% of the Pentagon’s discretionary budget away from obsolete Cold War weapons towards education, healthcare, job training, alternative energy development, world hunger, deficit reduction.'"

Obama might have a difficult time throwing these pacifists under the bus because he says in the video: "You know where I stand. I fought for open ethical and accountable government my entire public life. I don’t switch positions or make promises that can’t be kept."
