The BlogJust one week has passed since the Maoist controlled Parliament deposed King Gyanendra, the Etonian head-of-state, and Nepal is already in the crapper. Thousands of local government workers have gone on strike in protest of a Maoist minister, who "locked up an 'errant official' in a toilet" for an hour and a half.
As an aside, the standoff over who would get the feathered crown concluded with poor King Gyanendra handing it over to the Commies. Perhaps Gyanendra will take some solace in that his people consider him a deity--or at least they used to. |
