A month ago, Barack Obama righteously (not to mention correctly) opposed tapping the Strategic Oil Reserve. Back then, Obama said that we should only tap the reserve in the event of an emergency. Since then, oil prices have plummeted by $25/barrel, or more than 16%. And yet now, inexplicably, the Emergency According to Obama has grown since His last pronouncement on the subject and we must now tap the Strategic Reserves. Here’s Obama a month ago:

Thank heavens Barack Obama will bring us a different kind of politics, and we as a society will finally turn the page on the politics of pandering and demagoguery.

PS – Now we know how he’s able to claim such excellent judgment. By taking both sides of every issue, he’s bound to never miss the right decision.
