Any Takers?

Via Jake Tapper, Dick Cheney said in an interview with Bill Bennett yesterday:

There's never yet been a congressman come forward and volunteer to take 250 al Qaeda members in his district ... So then the question is, where are you going to put them? And you've got to sort that all out before you close Guantanamo.

Democratic Kansas governor Kathleen Sebelius thinks Guantanamo should be closed but says she doesn't want detainees in Ft. Leavenworth. The proposal to send the detainees to Charleston is meeting equally stiff opposition from South Carolina legislators--but at least they favor keeping Gitmo open and aren't trying to make these terrorists someone else's problem.

Isn't there one Democrat who will stand up and save his or her party from its staggering hypocrisy? Perhaps Speaker Pelosi should volunteer her district. San Francisco might not yet have a proper facility to hold these terrorists, but, as Allahpundit suggested, the construction of a new prison might be a good job for Obama's new W.P.A.
