That's the headline of Carrie Budoff Brown's story in Politico.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) told Sebelius at the outset that he takes "tax matters here seriously" and wanted to hear why she recently paid almost $8,000 in back taxes and interest.

"I'm eager for you to address those matters today, so that they may be taken into consideration as your nomination moves forward," he said.

But Grassley left early - and it never came up again.

Social conservatives were hoping Sebelius would be pressed on her abortion rights record; the committee staff reportedly told her to be prepared to respond to questions about it. In the end, the word "abortion" wasn't mentioned.

Apparently senators were busy voting on the budget resolution, so "Sebelius fielded less than two hours' worth of softballs" on Thursday. On the campaign trail, Barack Obama pledged that his health care plan would cover abortions and private insurance companies would be required to do the same. Wouldn't it be nice to know if Sebelius supports these proposals, or if they were just campaign bluster?
