Red Maps Document Taliban Takeover Of Pakistan

Over at The Long War Journal, I’ve been putting together what I call the Pakistan Red Map for almost three years. The purpose of the map is document the Taliban takeover of the Northwest Frontier Province, one of Pakistan’s four provinces (the map has since expanded into Punjab and Baluchistan).

The BBC has jumped on the bandwagon and is now producing its own version of a red map for northwestern Pakistan, which is eerily similar to mine. The BBC is a bit more conservative in its definition of Taliban control, you can see the maps side by side below:
