Congressman Joe Sestak appeared on Good Day Philadelphia today, and it sounds as if he's all but decided to challenge Arlen Specter in next year's Democratic Senate primary:

Not only does Sestak sound as if he's ready to make the run, it seems he already has his campaign themes. He mocks the D.C. Democratic establishment for trying to tell Pennsylvania 'here's your future.' And his attacks on Specter for opposing the president's blueprint for health care, energy, and economic growth are likely to find a favorable audience among liberals eager for a challenger.

Sestak has more than $3 million in cash on hand which can be applied to a Senate primary in Pennsylvania. He has an ally in Pennsylvania's powerful labor unions, who are eager to see pressure applied to Specter to get him to cave on Card Check. He's well-positioned to make Specter's run for reelection much more difficult.
