"My First Thought Was, Hey, Don't Disparage Flight Attendants"

Sarah Palin on David Letterman's crude jokes:

The weeklong feud between late-night's David Letterman and last-year's Sarah Palin came in for a landing this morning on the Today show, where Matt Lauer interviewed the Alaska governor about the comedian's lines of attack. ...

It wasn't so much the "sluttly flight attendant'' line about her makeup in a recent tour of New York that upset her, she said. "My first thought was, hey, don't disparage flight attendants,'' Palin said, "we love them.''

It was the reference to her daughter and "A Rod'' at Yankee Stadium that got her going. Palin called Letterman's line about the two in center field "a sad commentary of where we are as a society."
