Londonistan Lives Up To Its Name
Britain's Crown Prosecution Service has hired Azad Ali, a known Islamist who has praised Osama bin Laden's mentor and sympathized with insurgents who have killed U.S. and British troops in Iraq. The kicker is Ali has been fired by the Treasury because of his past statements but was hired by the Crown Prosecution Service anyway. The Telegraph lays out the case against Ali:
On his blog, hosted by the Islamic Europe Forum, an organisation linked with East London Mosque, Ali , said he found 'much truth' in an interview with an Islamic militant who said: âIf I saw an American or British an wearing a soldierâs uniform inside Iraq I would kill him because that is my obligation.â
He also wrote about the British governmentâs policy on Gaza under the heading âWe are the resistanceâ, saying: âThere is no respite from the terrorist slaughter machine of the Zionist state of Israel. America and our own government have given much fuel to this machine and in fact helped to build the killing machine.â
In another post on Gaza in January entitled âWe are the resistance IIâ, Ali described some Muslim moderates as ânothing but self-serving vultures, feeding on the dead flesh of the Palestiniansâ.
He has also used his blog to praise Abdullah Azzam, regarded as a key spiritual mentor to Osama Bin Laden, saying Azzam was one of the âfew Muslims who promote the understanding of the term jihad in its comprehensive gloryâ as both a doctrine of âself-purificationâ and of âwarfareâ.
Ali has also used his blog to deny that the Mumbai attacks last November, in which 173 people were killed, were an act of terrorism. He has also defended Hizb ut-Tahrir, an extremist group which opposes western democracy.
It is unclear if Ali supports forcing the Queen wear the burka, but given what Ali has said on his blog, that would be a pretty moderate position for him to take.
