And a Lot of Them Work on Capitol Hill

The red hot quote to start the week comes from Mike Allen's Politico Playbook where he excerpts a New Yorker article by Ryan Lizza that contains this gem.

‘There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it,’ a Rubio aide told me. ‘There shouldn’t be a presumption that every American worker is a star performer. There are people who just can’t get it, can’t do it, don’t want to do it. And so you can’t obviously discuss that publicly.’

Off-the-record.  Taken-out-of-context.  Didn't mean it.  Didn't say it.

It is, of course, precisely what many in the political class believe.  And is also a component of elite opinion.

Meanwhile, out in the country's remote regions, the natives still huddle around their campfires and cling to their guns and religion.
