In a short web ad released today, ahead of Barack Obama's State of the Union Address, the Republican party mocks the president for always wanting to raise taxes:

“Democrats never miss an opportunity to call for higher taxes,” says RNC chair Reince Priebus in a prepared statement that accompanies the release of the video. “And now they’re calling for higher taxes yet again, even after Americans saw an increase in their payroll taxes at the start of the year. When President Obama calls for a ‘balanced approach,’ we know that’s actually code for higher taxes. But he already got his tax increases on the rich, so now it’s time to address the real problem: out-of-control government spending. To grow our economy and create jobs, we have to get our national debt under control, and that requires real solutions, not gimmicks. The President’s plan is not serious, just more tax hikes.”
