Campaign spokesman Andrea Saul says, in an email to reporters, "Gov. Romney’s event today will go on as planned, and he will address the tragedy in Colorado." Romney will be speaking at Coastal Forest Products in Bow, New Hampshire. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and loved ones," writes Saul.

The AP reports, "A gunman wearing a gas mask set off an unknown gas and fired into a crowded movie theater in suburbanDenver theater at a midnight opening of the Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises," killing 14 people and injuring at least 50 others, authorities said."

Meanwhile, there is no indication from the White House that President Obama's schedule has change. As of last night, here's what the president, who is in Florida, had going on tonight:

In the morning, the President will depart West Palm Beach, Florida en route Fort Myers, Florida. The departure from Palm Beach International Airport and the arrival at Southwest Florida International Airport are open press.

Later in the morning, the President will deliver remarks at a campaign event in Fort Myers, Florida. The President’s remarks at Harborside Event Center are open to pre-credentialed media.

In the afternoon, the President will depart Fort Myers, Florida en route Orlando, Florida. The departure from Southwest Florida International Airport and the arrival at Orlando International Airport are open press.

Later in the afternoon, the President will deliver remarks at a campaign event at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. The President’s remarks are open to pre-credentialed media.

In the evening, the President will depart Orlando, Florida en route Washington, DC. The departure from Orlando International Airport and the arrival on the South Lawn will be open press.

Peter Baker of the New York Times comments, "So far no change in Obama campaign sked. Hard to call for American family to come together and then come out swinging as partisan again."

UPDATE: From the pool reporter:

"POTUS motorcade departed the Palm Beach hotel at 9:14 a.m. under sunny skies on a muggy South Florida morning. A phalanx of motorcycle police accompanied the motorcade, with a smattering of bystanders along the road. Heading to airport for trip across state to Ft. Myers, where POTUS will make public remarks on the Colo. movie theater shooting."

UPDATE II: President Obama will cut his trip short, and return to Washington. From the pool report:

The campaign announced: President Obama will address the tragedy in Aurora, Colorado in remarks in Ft. Myers, Florida this morning. Then he will return to the White House. In light of the tragedy in Colorado, the event in Winter Park, Florida will be cancelled.

Motorcade has arrived at airport in Palm Beach.
