Just what you would expect.  Shut down the government and right away, wild animals move in.  They even infiltrate the White House grounds.

From Eddie Gehman Kohan's Obama Foodarama blog, we learn that there is a fox:

... now living in the seat of American power:  Thanks to the shutdown, groundskeepers have given up on their efforts to catch the elusive creature, who showed up to live inside the White House gates more than two weeks ago.  It has been spotted many times at dawn and dusk … 

That's the way things are in a state of nature.  Nasty, brutish, etc. etc.  Especially in Washington, D.C.
