It had to happen. Everything else is going global and, as Kevin Bogardus of The Hill reports:
With lobbying revenue in Washington declining, lobbyists say Patton Boggs is adopting a “go big or go home” strategy ...
Everybody in the world is aware of the importance of influence and many cultures are a little more up front about how it is obtained. They have words for it – Baksheesh, for instance – that convey their meaning quite clearly.
Still … the world surely will be improved by the “globalization of the influence industry.”
But if, for some reason, the world is not … Patton Boggs (and the other K-Street outfits that will inevitably follow) surely will be. And it is nice to think that there is at least one area of commerce where the U.S. can still show the world how to get ‘er done.
